Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Shoptest (“Shoptest”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you install or use the ShopTest Shopify application (the “App”) or visit our website (the “Site”). The App provides automated storefront monitoring and testing services (the “Service”) for Shopify merchants and teams.
1. Information we collect
A) Information from your Shopify account
When you install the App, Shopify provides us with certain information related to your store and the installation, such as:
Store name and store URL (myshopify domain)
Store contact email
Store plan and basic store metadata
Access tokens and permissions (“scopes”) you grant to the App
We request only the permissions needed to provide the Service (for example, to read storefront configuration needed to create and run test scenarios and to detect changes that may affect monitoring).
B) Information you provide to us
We may collect information you provide directly, such as:
Name, email address, and contact details
Agency/company name (if applicable)
Support requests and communications
Billing information (processed by Shopify or our payment providers, as applicable)
C) Service data (generated by your use of the App)
To run automated tests and monitoring, we may process:
Test/journey configurations you create or select (including AI-generated templates)
Test run results (pass/fail, timestamps)
Error details and diagnostic signals related to failures
Screenshots and logs captured during automated runs (if enabled)
Broken link crawl results (URLs scanned and status codes)
D) Website analytics
When you visit our Site, we may automatically collect certain information, including:
IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and timestamps
We may use analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site.
2. Customer data
ShopTest is designed to monitor your storefront flows. We do not intentionally collect or store your customers’ payment details. Depending on your configured journeys, test runs may interact with storefront pages similarly to a shopper, which may create standard Shopify artifacts such as carts or abandoned checkouts.
You should avoid configuring tests to enter real customer payment details.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the App and Service
Run automated journeys, monitoring, and broken link crawls
Provide alerts and notifications about detected issues
Provide AI-assisted features (e.g., generating test scenarios and suggesting troubleshooting steps)
Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support
Improve and optimize the App, Site, and Service
Detect, prevent, and address security, fraud, or technical issues
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
4. AI features and data processing
ShopTest includes AI functionality that can:
Generate test scenarios based on predefined templates and store context
Analyze failures and provide troubleshooting suggestions
AI outputs are generated from the information available within your App workspace (e.g., journey configuration, failure signals, logs/screenshots where enabled). We do not sell your data or use it to build advertising profiles.
5. Sharing your information
We may share your information with:
Service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, logging, analytics, customer support). They are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
Analytics providers for anonymized or aggregated usage insights (e.g., Site analytics).
Legal and compliance: to comply with applicable laws and regulations, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights and safety.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes, such as maintaining records, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. If you uninstall the App, we may retain certain information for a limited period unless you request deletion, subject to legal requirements.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, and access controls.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access and misuse.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about you. If you are an EEA/UK resident, you may have additional rights under data protection laws.
To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below.
9. International transfers
If you access the Service from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred and processed in other jurisdictions. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers where required.
10. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our Site for functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect functionality.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
